Curk T. Lane, PLS
Owner, Lead Surveyor and Draftsman
Curk is a graduate of Wake Technical Community College where he received an Associate of Science degree in Surveying Technology. Mr. Lane started True Line Surveying in 1999 and is registered as a professional land surveyor with the North Carolina Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of professional land surveying and has extensive knowledge in construction management.
Lisa Lane
Owner, Accounting Manager
Lisa is a graduate of NC State University. She received her MBA in 1996 from Campbell University. Mrs. Lane manages the day to day accounting and financial functions for True Line Surveying.
Mike Grindstaff
Draftsman
Mike has worked as a survey draftsman since 1994 and has been employed with True Line Surveying since 1999. Mr. Grindstaff has over 30 years of experience in the land surveying business. He specializes in major subdivisions, site plans, topographic and boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
Molly Lee Herring
Office Manager
Molly has been with True Line Surveying for over 20 years. She graduated from JCC with an Associate of Arts degree. Mrs. Herring manages the day to day operations of the office as well as client relations, job intake, research and project submittals.
Danny DiMaggio
Draftsman
Danny began his surveying career over 20 years ago, starting as a field technician before becoming a draftsman. Mr. DiMaggio specializes in minor subdivisions, recombinations, estate divisions and easement surveys.
Patrick Jones
Field Crew Coordinator
Pat began his surveying career as a field technician and was a survey crew chief for many years. He currently manages all field crews for True Line and drafts construction surveys, aerial photogrammetric and machine control, as well as calculating construction stake out.
Matt Lee
Draftsman
Matt began surveying as a survey field technician in 2015. He later became a survey crew chief before leaving field work to draft surveys. Mr.Lee works closely with agents/closing attorneys providing mortgage loan surveys. He also assists with minor subdivisions, boundary surveys, and as-builts.
Richie Herring
Draftsman
Richie retired from the Clayton Police Dept in 2021. He joined TLS shortly after, and specializes in map review and quality control. Mr. Herring is also responsible for plot plans and house stakings.
Carson Lane
Carson began working with TLS in more of a full-time capacity in 2025. He oversees the maintenance and operational readiness of the company’s truck fleet and land surveying equipment. With the introduction of drone technology to our company in 2024, Carson acquired his drone pilot’s license and manages all drone projects.
Fayth Layne
Fayth is a native of TN. She joined TLS in 2025 as a junior draftswoman. Deciding to pursue a career in land surveying, she is currently enrolled at Wake Community Technical College studying Geomatics Technology. Fayth handles many of the plot plans, Title search, job creation, physical surveys and minor subdivisions. When she is not drafting survey maps, she is at the skeet range shooting International Skeet for Team USA.
Fernando Paz
Fernando began his land surveying career as a survey field technician in 2015. Since that time, he has grown in his craft and is one of the top surveyors at our company. As of recent, Fernando has segued into assisting field crews with point calculation and field data. He is instrumental in educating employees just beginning their careers in land surveying.
Carsyn Ross
Carsyn is the face that greets you when you visit our office. She is not only our receptionist, but also manages our electronic filing system, assists with job setup, and is basically an all-around multi-tasker. Currently, Carsyn is finishing her Associate of Applied Science degree at JCC.
